KISS is an American rock band formed in New York City in January 1973 by Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Peter Criss, and Ace Frehley. Known for their elaborate stage performances, face painting, and costumes, KISS rose to prominence in the mid-to-late 1970s with hits like “Rock and Roll All Nite,” “Detroit Rock City,” and “Beth.”

Over the years, the band has undergone several lineup changes, with Stanley and Simmons being the only constant members. KISS has sold over 100 million records worldwide, making them one of the best-selling bands of all time. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014.
